Short contracts can leave your experience scattered across sites and employers. Add the projects you want to show, with your role and field methods, and build a clear CV draft from your own words.

Audience: Field archaeologists bringing several excavations, surveys or short contracts into their next application.

## What the starter does

- **Keep the project details:** Give each entry its own employer, dates, project type, role and methods. A short contract can still show specific experience.
- **Make your contribution clear:** Describe the work you did and identify commercial, academic or volunteer experience in your entries.
- **Use your own wording:** The starter organizes the facts you supply without AI rewriting. Review the draft before moving to the formatting preview.

## Example

Fictional input:

Fictional example: Alex Reed worked for Fenland Archaeology, April–June 2025, as a field archaeologist on a commercial rural evaluation in Cambridgeshire. Tasks: trial trenching, context recording and GPS survey.

Organized output:

Alex Reed
SELECTED PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Rural evaluation, Cambridgeshire
Fenland Archaeology | April–June 2025
Role: Field archaeologist | Commercial project
Methods and responsibilities: Trial trenching, context recording and GPS survey.

Fictional example.

## How to use it

1. **Bring your career background:** Enter your name and contact details. Optionally upload a CV or paste the background you want to retain.
2. **Add your chosen projects:** Enter each project separately. Check the employer, dates and your contribution; use a general location when site details are confidential.
3. **Review your field CV:** Generate and copy the draft free. Continue to the full formatting preview, then export to Google Docs, Word and PDF for $9 once.

## Scope and price

You enter and review the project details. CVPilot does not extract specialist project records automatically or verify experience and qualifications.

The starter assembles entered facts in your browser without AI rewriting. Uploads extract existing text, which must be checked and entered into specialist fields manually. Free draft, free copying, and full formatting preview. Standard exports to Google Docs, Word, and PDF cost $9 USD once. Outputs are one document with labeled sections. Optional writing improvements are reviewed separately.

## Questions

### Can I include commercial work and field school?

Yes. Label each record accurately so the reader can distinguish employment, field school, research and volunteering. The starter uses the details you enter; it does not decide which experience counts for a role.

### Will it find all the projects in my existing CV?

You can upload a CV or paste its text as background. Add and check the specialist project records yourself. Automatic archaeology-project extraction is not part of this starter.

### Does it create a separate project appendix?

This version creates one draft with a project-experience section. Add the projects you want in that document, then edit the final wording and layout before sending it.

### What is free, and what costs money?

Building, reviewing and copying the starter draft is free. You can also preview the formatted document free. Standard Google Docs, Word and PDF exports cost $9 USD once, with no subscription.
