## Questions and answers

### What is free, and what costs money?

You can preview your complete formatted resume free. Saving it to Google Docs and downloading Word or PDF files costs $9 USD once. There is no subscription. Writing suggestions are available when you select the optional editing mode.

### Will CVPilot change my resume’s wording?

In “Just format it” mode, every nonempty line keeps its wording and order. Blank lines and styling change. Choose “Polish the writing too” if you want AI editing, then check the suggested text before using it.

### Can I upload a PDF or Word resume?

Yes. CVPilot accepts text-based PDFs, .docx files, and plain text under 4 MB. You can also paste your resume. Check the extracted text first; scanned image-only PDFs need text pasted separately.

### Is the finished Google Doc editable?

Yes. After purchase, connect the Google account where you want to save the resume. CVPilot creates a new, editable document in your Drive. You can adjust fonts, spacing, and page breaks there.

### Can I format my resume without AI rewriting?

Yes. Basic formatting runs without an AI request and uses your original text. AI is used when you request writing improvements or an AI revision.

### Does it guarantee an ATS pass or an interview?

No. An applicant tracking system and an employer’s hiring decisions are outside CVPilot’s control. A readable layout can help communicate your experience, but no template guarantees selection. Follow the employer’s file instructions and review the final document.

### What happens to my resume?

Uploaded files are read to extract text and are not retained. Free previews expire after 24 hours; purchased files are accessible here for 30 days. Expired records are deleted daily. Copies saved to your Google Drive remain under your control.

### What if an export fails after payment?

Your purchased preview is saved. Return with your private email link to download your files or try Google Docs again. If we cannot deliver the purchased export, contact support for help or a refund.
